1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government affiliation. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or files papers for a user.

Its content identifies sources such as the Portage County Sheriff’s Records Division, Portage County Circuit Court, Wisconsin DOJ Crime Information Bureau, and Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of access, you agree not to:

• Use bots, scraping tools, or other automation against the pages
• Violate a federal, Wisconsin, or local law
• Threaten, stalk, or harass a person with information found here
• Attempt unauthorized access to any account, server, or system

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information from this website or a linked tool to stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Misuse may be criminal. Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry data deserves special care under Wis. Stat. § 301.45 and the portal warning. It exists for public awareness and safety, not vigilantism, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and issue no consumer report, credit report, or official background check. This website and its advertising partners are not designed for applicant, renter, insurance, or credit screening. You must not use this website or a linked tool to:

• Decide whether to hire or fire someone
• Screen potential renters or housing applicants
• Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
• Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
• Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally permitted screening need must be handled through an appropriate official or FCRA-compliant provider, with every required authorization and notice.

5. No Legal Advice

General descriptions of Portage County records are not legal advice. Only a licensed Wisconsin attorney can advise how a warrant, charge, conviction, or expungement rule affects a particular set of facts.

All content and functions are offered "as is" and "as available." We make no promise that:

11. Governing Law

Wisconsin law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Wisconsin. Wisconsin Public Records Law, Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31–19.39, governs public authorities and does not make this private website an official custodian.
